The Legends of Kazakhstani ballet art

The Kazakh national academy of choreography held a lecture-concert “The legends of Kazakhstani ballet art”.  Students of the “Choreography” faculty prepared informative materials about the life and creative activity of outstanding choreographers, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of ballet art and pedagogy in Kazakhstan.

Among them is Dauren Tastanbekovich Abirov – the first Kazakh professional choreographer, People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ph.D. in art sciences, researcher and propagandist of Kazakh dance. His incredible talent and love for his profession left a big mark in the hearts of his students, artists and connoisseurs of Kazakh ballet.

Ulan Mirseidov is a ballet dancer, an outstanding teacher of classical dance. He made an invaluable contribution to the development of pedagogy of choreography in Kazakhstan. Ulan Ataulayevich trained a pleiad of dancers who are laureates of international ballet competitions and soloists of domestic and foreign ballet theaters. He left a huge store of knowledge, which today is the basis of the pedagogical activity of young specialists. The continuity of traditions continues in his students, in his children and takes on new forms, a new breath.

It was impossible to mention on this day Zaurbek Muldagalievich Raibaev – People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order of Qurmet. In terms of his personality, talent and contribution to ballet, he can be safely called Petipa of the Kazakh Ballet. As a wonderful performer and a talented choreographer, he enriched and raised to a new level the art of classical and Kazakh folk dance in our country.

The participants of the fascinating lecture-concert also performed beautiful works such as the female lyric dance “Asatayak” by Zaurbek Raibaev, Adagio from the ballet “Le Corsaire” and others.

For many, such meetings become an opportunity to plunge into the real world of ballet, to see and understand that entering the stage is a bright, colorful and amazing result of many hours of daily work, hard work, incredible efforts, efforts and love for one’s work, without which it’s impossible to withstand all these difficulties. That beauty, impulse and sensuality, expressed in the dance that we observe on the stage, are the fruit of the work of dancers, balletmasters, choreographers.
