A round table was held at the Academy dedicated to the 85th anniversary season of the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay.

A round table called “KSATOB” named after Abay: Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow” was organized by the scientific and methodological laboratory of the “Directing” department of the “Choreography faculty” under the guidance of Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Professor, Candidate of Art History Toygan Izim and second-year undergraduates: Islyamova A., Fedosova I., Usina G., Minakhanov R.

About the past, present and future of the temple of culture were told by one of the outstanding personalities of our country, whose names are closely related to the activities of the KSATOB named after Abay: Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the medal “Enbek Ardagery” Kadyrova Mayra Shafkatovna, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tukeyev Murat Oryndykbaevich, Head of the Directing Department of the Academy, as well as Honored Artist of Russia, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Dean of the Choreography Department of Academy Nurlan Ismagulovich Kanetov.

Students of the Academy made reports on famous personalities whose names entered the history of the KSATOB named after Abay and on the activities of one of the largest theaters in Eurasia.

The senior lecturer of the Academy, Anvara Sadykova, as a researcher and advocate of Kazakh choreography, could not help but talk about the role of Mayra Kadyrova, about her performed a wide variety of parties on the stage of the KSATOB named after Abay, about her stage experience, brought to the pedagogical work.

Mayra Kadyrova began her career as an artist in the KSATOB named after Abay. From 1976 to 1997, she was the prima ballerina of the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay. She danced the leading parties of variety of ballets.

Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet» named after Abay was founded in 1934. In 1941, the theater received academic status, and in 1945 it was named after Abay.
