Here, the sportsmen together with the representatives of the Academy headed by First Vice-Rector Bibigul Nusipzhanova planted several trees as a part of the environmental friendly project.

As previously reported, the initiators of the project Galym Chuashev, Dmitry Kim and Aydin Sadibekov plan to run a marathon in 18 cities of Kazakhstan in 18 days. The distance of each race is 42 km 195 m. The peculiarity of the eco-marathon is that the athletes do not just run, but also plant trees along their entire route. In total, the participants plan to plant 760 trees as this is the length of their running path – in 18 days the athlets will run 760 km.

The marathon started on September 20th in the city of Taldykorgan. Nur-Sultan became the sixth city in the runners’ route; earlier the participants had already visited Oskemen, Semey, Pavlodar and Karagandy.
