The first international festival of the Central Asian Dance Festival, which organized in cooperation with US Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, has finished last weekend.

The Festival lasted two weeks and was interesting and various by different types of dance and participants. Festival united dancers and choreographers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and USA. Intensive master classes in various fields, such as hip-hop, contemporary, Broadway, modern, jazz, were conducted by leading choreographers: Brainy Williams, Catherine Pilkington and Dal Fin. In addition, participants were able to grasp the basics of photo and video choreography, as well as the direction of art management.

The Central Asian Dance Festival undoubtedly became a center for the consolidation of professional choreographers which have had lasting impact. The final veil of the Festival was the premiere “The Falling Man” with the participation of more than 60 participants. The author of the production was Paul Gordon Emerson. “The Falling Man” – the story of what surprises can give a huge New York. “My hometown is New York. I wanted to show how it can be different. And, despite the setbacks that may occur there, New York has the ability to recover. This is a statement about how a city can overcome difficulties.” – says Paul Emerson.

The Central Asian Dance Festival, which was held for the first time in Kazakhstan, has become one of the most vivid and memorable events of this summer. We hope that every private owner has discovered for himself a new facet of creativity and future development.
