Bakhtiyar Adamzhan’s Triumph in Rome

Principal Dancer of the Astana Opera, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bakhtiyar Adamzhan took part in the most prestigious cultural event in Rome. Two days in a row, on January 20 and 21, gala concerts featuring international ballet stars was held at the Santa Cecilia Hall of the Auditorium Parco della Musica music complex as part of the Les Étoiles project.

Together with Prima Ballerina of the Teatro alla Scala Nicoletta Manni, the famous Kazakh dancer performed the title role of the Young Man in the ballet Le Jeune Homme et la Mort, staged by the eminent French choreographer Roland Petit.

The Grand Prix winner of numerous international competitions Bakhtiyar Adamzhan also performed the pas de deux from Ludwig Minkus’ ballet Don Quixote and Diana and Acteon’s pas de deux from Cesare Pugni’s ballet La Esmeralda together with Principal Dancer of the Hungarian National Ballet Tatiana Melnik.

Principal Dancers of international companies, such as London’s Royal Ballet, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Ballet Nacional de España, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Mikhailovsky Theatre, the American Ballet Theatre, the Staatsballett Berlin and others took part in the concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding 20th century ballerina Margot Fonteyn.

Bakhtiyar Adamzhan’s performances at the European venues are always a success, fans of the brilliant Kazakh dancer not only greet his stage appearances with standing ovations, but also wait for him after the concerts near the stage door to express their admiration, take a commemorative photo and take an autograph.

Such performances of domestic stars promote modern Kazakh culture in the global arena and are part of the materialization of the plans of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan to implement the program of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev “Rukhani Zhangyru”.
